Surfing on Anna Maria Island
Surfing is a hugely popular activity on Anna Maria Island….and for good reason…..
One of the most popular spots for surfing in the area is White Avenue in Anna Maria City. It’s well known by the locals and is known to be the best surfing in the area. The Gulf of Mexico offers favorable surfing conditions, and on rough days White Avenue is a an absolute hive of activity.
Bradenton Beach also offers a fairly popular spot called the 3 Jetties, although Anna Maria Island doesn’t offer huge waves to ride, it is a great place to visit when there is a storm in the Gulf or for learners.

If you’re here with the kids and want to really get them involved in the water and make the most of local area you have to check out one really popular event, which takes place over 8 weeks each summer, Eternal Summer Surf Camp. Bringing in over 200 sign ups from children each year is hugely popular and is free for them to attend. The surf camp was set up by surfers and operates solely on donations from people and organizations. It is situated between Park and White Avenue on the island and gets very busy so it is best to book your place whilst you’re making your booking with us for your place to stay.
